WEEK ONE/LIMA CCM- "This is the coolest place in the world. Love my life & love these people"

Hey everyone!!

Peru is the coolest place ever!! This week has FLOWN by!! I love my district! We are the only English district that has sisters (hermanas) in it!! It is so fun! 

I have learned a crazy amount of Spanish! So much that when I'm writing in English I'm mixing up my words! My companion, Elder Nathan Cromwell, is a total stud. He is from Vegas!!

I'm really enjoying my personal studies and the hour we get everyday at the super cool sports complex here! I love it!! I love y'all but I don't exactly miss home all that much, no offense of course ;)) This 2 years is going to fly by!



SADLY: no letters for the next 6 weeks :( I had already written letters to a lot of you when I found that out... Everyone here is amazed by my jumping skills as a 5'4 kid ;) I go up with the best of em ;) 

I was priviliged to teach a class on Sunday and it went great! Everyone was super impressed and there was tons of class participation. So much fun.

Highlight of my week was definitely yesterday when my favorite Chilean buddy Elder Oliva and my companion broke out into Moana in English and Spanish. Oh and maybe going to the temple this morning.

Now this was a sweet and tender picture because this is Connor
with a young man Elder Ben Bailey from Layton, UT.
Elder Bailey's GRANDPA is brother to our DEAREST friends on
the planet, Joy (and Richard) Christianson.
I have yet to find out HOW these two made the
Christianson connection, but it's got to be a story to tell!!
Elder Bailey is headed to the Piura Mission after training.

The temple in Lima is so cool! Also, EVERYTHING is Spanish and it's wild!!
I love it here! Love you all!!

A FEW QUESTIONS FROM MOM TO CONNOR:

(There were more, I'm just picking and choosing the ones I think are most interesting to friends and family!!)

1.) Airplane experience? Did you sleep?

Once I got going I was gone. I planted a Book of Mormon with 20 year old me from Lima Peru. His name was G. and we were the same person from 2 different universes. He loves all sports but mostly baseball and he likes to surf but he's awful at it hahaha.

2.) What was it like when you got OFF the plane?

Wild everyone spoke Spanish and we only spoke basic but we made it in at 4 am

3. How is the MTC/CCM? Please tell us about it?

HUGE 4 WALLS. Super safe and super fun! Presidente Moore and his wife are the coolest.}

4.) Who is in your district? 

3 sister and 8 elders

5.) How are your Spanish Classes? Teachers?

Great I'm learning a ton. They're both awesome.

6.) How is the food?

I have no idea what I'm eating half the time but it's really good

7.) How about your room and roommate situation?

Super great. There is 6 of us and were all like brothers now.

8.) Need anything?

Nope I'm lovin' life.

9.) MOST OF ALL - HOW IS YOUR HEART? HOW ARE YOU FEELING? ARE YOU HAPPY? I hope you can feel the LOVE of the LORD there at the CCM!!!!

This is the coolest place in the world.

Love my life and love these people. Time is flying. Seriously see ya soon. 

So what have I learned from the other Moms?

1.) The Peru CCM has 120 missionaries there at a time, with a maximum of 144 bed capacity.

2.) Another Missionary Momma reported that her son said: Spanish is not the same as English whatsoever! She said: This after having taken 3 years of Spanish in school. OH BOY!!!

3.) They have been talking SPANISH 24/7 EXCEPT for a few hours on Sunday.

4.) Weather has been mild - no humidity

5.) The teachers are great.

6.) Soccer is fun!
