WEEK #8 - 2 MONTHS, 1 GUINEA PIG, CHICKEN FEET at 14,000 FEET!

Hi all!!
Today is officially
2 months! Time is flying by!!

I want to talk today about James 3:4, Proverbs 4:26 and Luke 17:12-14.

James 3:4 "Behold also the ships which though they be so great and are driven of fierce winds, yet they are turned about with a very small helm withersoever the governor listeth."

Our lives can be tossed by all these waves everyday! But what is the best way to handle waves as a ship or canoe? You go right at it. Trials in life can be difficult but if you go right at it with a good attitude there is no way you can be stopped! Also make sure God is your governor :)

Proverbs 4:26 "Ponder the path of thy feet and let all thy ways be established."

Make sure you know where you are going! Have a plan! Plans can be some of the best resources we can have in our life. Plan to accomplish everything you start. The best example of goal setting to me is my friend and fellow full-time missionary, Mr. Spencer Larsen. He is a man with a plan and can`t be stopped!

Luke 17:12-14 This is the story of the 10 lepers who call out to Jesus for help. People with leprosy could not even come near other people. They called from afar off to Jesus and asked for help. Jesus commanded to them to go show themselves to the priests so they could reenter the city and try to restart a life. He commanded them to go and AS THEY WENT they were healed. This was no simple task. They could be stoned for coming near the city but as they demonstrated faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ they were healed.

Make sure that we are not only saying we have faith but also demonstrating in every aspect of our life!

I love you all so much!! Hope to hear from ya!

A FEW QUESTIONS FROM HOME:

Mom: Can I get a little narrative on what a typical day is like:
Connor: Tomorrow we get up at 6:30 and eat at 8 and then have meetings district and leaders until 11ish and then we will go home and study until lunch and then after lunch have sitas (appointments to teach) at 4 -5and then correlation at 6 and a sita at 7 and then ward council at 8. And whenever that ends we will go to dinner and then go home and sleep like a rock.

How are you feeling?
My health had its first lil slip up this week but nothing serious and Hermana Sherley is like our momma in Puno always checking on us! Just some stomach stuff. Nothing big. We worked all week!

Does Miss Shyrlay serve you carrots? (I asked b/c he loves carrots)
How many meals a day does she make you and what are some of the foods. How is it?

Yeah, but not often though. She makes 3 meals a day - chicken, rice and potatoes and then usually something different and a hot drink at the end.

Breakfast is at 9ish Lunch is at 3ish and Dinner is at 8 or 9 depending on our sitas. Lunch is the big meal here not dinner so lunch is usually huge.

Hardest things about the week?
Not holding the primary children here for sure...They are so dang cute.

Most JOYFUL thing about the week?
An investigator who had bailed on us a couple times randomly showed up to church and asked to be baptized on the 7th.

Hows your heart?
Happy :) My saying is "Soy feliz" because usually you would use estoy for emotions and soy for something permanent but I am permanently happy :) The church is true.

Dad: Do you know the altitude of your location now?
Connor: Right now Im around 14,000 ft but it can only get lower from here... we play rugby for like 6 hours and it's fun but the altitude wrecks me here.
In other news: On Tuesday there was a fight at the concha across the street because the goalie got a red card so he went into the crowd and beat up some random guy and tried to throw him off a balcony it was pretty wild. Then yesterday this dude threw a chair off the balcony at a ref..pretty wild soccer hahaha.
Connor: Theres huge alpaca and sheep at the field we play rugby at every Monday its pretty cool! Also I ate guinea pig ...and chicken feet..pretty whack stuff haha. I am not a picky eater anymore I quit that junk.

DAD: What did the Guinea Pig Taste like?

Connor: It tasted like really chewy chicken hahahah!  It was like smoked! Technically we weren't supposed to eat it, but I mean come on...it was like a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Where did you eat it?
Connor: It was at a members home! It was like a fleshy chicken that was really good!

Connor's flagging talent continues:
Here's some more flagging pictures. I'm having to get pretty creative at where to do it....
