SAFE IN LIMA, PERU!

Someone got this first sneak peek of all the elders and sisters arriving in Lima. We mommas were all messaging back and forth trying to figure out who was who and it was a fun start.
It filled my heart to see that sweet smile of Connor's right there in the center!!

We watched Connor's flights all day AND NIGHT as he made it from Savannah to Atlanta and then from Atlanta to Lima. My greatest blessing that day was knowing he would be meeting up with a bunch of other missionaries also headed to Peru. Some were traveling from SLC, others from Las Vegas and even one form Atlanta. Through the blessing of FB and a Peru based Missionary Mom page I was connected up with these AMAZING missionary moms whose children were also headed to the Lima CCM that same day!! Eventually all of them would be going to other missions in Peru but still these young people would spend many days and nights together in the next 6 weeks. Some of the most trying times of their young lives as they adapted to missionary life, learning a new culture, language and came to rely on one another and the Lord like never before!! 

This is the email we got from Connor the following day. We knew it would be short but I can't lie, I was hoping for a tad more detail. As we say at our house, I was looking for the "girl version" ha ha

One of the best aspects of being a part of this Mom group is each mom got a tad more information from their sons so we were and will continue to share notes and pics in the hopes of getting the "whole story". It's like a puzzle - each one of us has a piece!! :)  


Hi family! I made it to the MTC. Very uneventful trip traveled with tons of missionaries. Everyone is great and I love it here. My first companion is headed to Cusco as well. I love yall but dont have time to email today! 

I will write again next Wednesday!

It wasn't long before I had some of the missing pieces:

1.) 28 missionaries met up at the Atlanta airport

2.) They arrived at the CCM at 3:30 a.m.  - something to do with customs and a crazy drive to the CCM

3.) CCM stands for CENTRO DE CAPACITACION MISIONAL

Capacitacion means "training" or "to get skills for/learn about" (Thanks Fari!!)

4.) His companion is from Vegas - Nathan Cromwell
