WEEK #7 - Attitude
![]() |
Elder Clancy and Elder Clobes Hey everyone! |
Todays message will be very short!
I want to talk about attitude! Here`s a short poem:
![]() |
If you think you are beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don`t;
If you like to win, but think you can`t
It`s almost a cinch you won`t.
If you think you`ll lose, your lost.
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow`s will;
It`s all in the state of mind.
If you think you´re out classed, you are;
You´ve got to think high to rise.
You´ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win the prize.
Life´s battles don´t always go
To the stronger and faster man;
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.
Pretty awesome right!
As all of you know I´m definitely not the biggest, fastest, smartest person out there but I am one happy kid right now :)
I decided as soon as I got out here I was going to be happy and I sure am. Cold showers and dirty rooms are pretty tough but how blessed am I to have the priviledge to have that shower or that dirty room not to mention the opportunity to learn a foreign language! This experience is extremely hard but it will truly bless my life forever and is changing my future in a positive way!
I love you all so much!!
Love,
Elder Clancy
FROM MOMMA CLANCY:
Connor sent pics today to me and to his Dad but the ones he sent to me didn't come through and I'm not sure why - how frustrating! I was so sad but then I remembered that I had connected up with Connor's companion's Mom and thought perhaps she might have some pics from this week. Sure enough she did and sent me most of the pics on this page. THANK HEAVENS!!! Thanks Tammy!!!
Connor and I chatted back and forth a few times today. He is happy and keeping busy. He LOVES his companion - says they get along great and he reminds him of Tyler!! It's a huge blessing to have such a positive relationship to start out his mission!! He says he and Elder Clobes had 12 sitas (appointments) this week. They are teaching many new members of the church in their area and have a number of people that are "investigating" or learning more about the church. He says his companion is a wonderful teacher.
He mentioned the altitude being tough and assured me he is using his filtered water bottle. WHEW!!!
When I asked him how he was feeling about his mission thus far he said, " For all of eternity this is something I have looked forward to and for the rest of eternity something I will look back on so yeah, I LOVE IT!"
What a positive attitude!!
His testimony for the week:
"My testimony is simple - Jesus Christ knows all of us personally and knows every struggle you can possibly think of. The Book of Mormon is the most true book in the whole world and works hand and hand perfectly with the Bible. Without reading and praying you can't possibly receive a testimony."
"I can honestly say, I haven't had a hard day yet, I KNOW it will come, it just hasn't yet. I am really just living' my life preaching' the good word."
