So here's what I know from our latest Skype conversation:
Elder Clancy has been moved to a really remote area of the mission - on the edge of the Amazon Rain Forest called Puerto Maldonado. It is HUMID and as he says "It's a 2-a-day-shower" part of the mission! We think it's just getting him ready for SC heat again!! Did I mention that there are only COLD showers though?? He says it's all good. He also has a large mosquito net over his bed. I'm told by others that the area has lots of rain, snakes and some monkeys - WOW - too many adventures for this Momma's heart!! PRAYERS PLEASE!
He LOVES his new companion from Alberta, Canada. His name is Elder Moore and we got a minute to chat with him via Skype - so happy they are together!! Sounds like they really hit it off and that is such a blessing. They live right near the other elders and also near their pension, Sis Luz. He said she is great! I was promised apartment pics next time!
Elder Moore has been there two transfers already so he will show Connor the lay of the land. He says he LOVES it there! They will be a part of a small branch congregation of about 40 people. Elder Moore said the people there are very receptive.
For safety reasons they have to be in by 7:30 pm every night. Please continue to pray for him and his fellow missionaries' safety. He loves all of them and is glad to have this time with a new group in a new area!
It's likely he will finish his mission in this area but ya never know! Next Transfers are May 27th which would be only 4 weeks from his homecoming so seems likely he will stay but we will keep y'all updated.
Oh and how can I forget:
HE GOT HIS POP TARTS - All is right with the world!! ha ha We mailed them in time for his birthday in March - but he just got them this last week. :(
Those are the most expensive, well- traveled pop tarts on the planet!!!
We LOVE our missionary and all the others serving the world over - including those right in our little corner of the world. When you say your prayers this week, please do us missionary families a favor and include our sons and daughters in your prayers!! We will be forever grateful!!
AND...HAPPY EASTER
